Winter Solstice: Grand Conjunction Portal

The Great Conjunction

December 21 marked an important astrological day that many yogis, natives, Mayan and others have been anticipating for years. It was the first Jupiter and Saturn conjunction in 20 years and the closest alignment since 1623. It is said that the energy created from THIS PORTAL has a power to change your life. Although the solstice has passed, the portal remains open until December 29.


The solstice in general is a perfect time for going deep within and immerse in meditation, contemplation, ritual and reflection of what old ways of thinking and being we are ready to release and how we are ready to align more fully with the essence of our soul and the purpose of this life. 

I started the solstice day powerfully with a group of 18 souls in our group where we focused our attention on the Third Eye as a portal to our unity and wholeness, and a point for activating the function of Hypothalamus, Pineal and Pituitary glands

These energies are creating a reset, as we enter the Age of Aquarius and begin 2021.

Here are a few ways you can support your evolutionary journey by aligning with today’s powerful energies and connection to your heart and soul:

Candle Gazing Meditation

Light a candle and sit quietly gazing at the flame. Candle gazing meditation helps bring energy to the third eye and brings an increased state of awareness. It also increases concentration and improves memory. 


Choose a quiet and darkened space where you will not be disturbed. Dim lights or close the curtain if you are going to do it during the day. I recommend in the dark of the evening. Remove distractions like cells phone, email program, etc. Let your attention be absorbed by the flame of the candle and notice the subtleties of the flame – colors of orange and red in the middle, blue towards the base, the movement of the candle. As you focus on the light of the candle, feel the light inside of your chest illuminating love and light. 


Let yourself feel your breath and how the breath ignites the light of the flame inside of your heart. If thoughts or distractions enter your awareness, simply let them pass, don’t participate in what is distracting you and let your attention stay with the flame and your breath.

Breathing & Feeling Meditation

As you sit quietly with your eyes closed, allow your mind to follow your breath with no agenda to get anything from this experience. Approach your breath with curiosity and openness as if you have never felt your breath with this level of detail before. Notice the rhythm, depth, quality of your breath. If you could describe your breath with an image, what would it be? Pebbled bottom of an ocean, calm river, wavy lake, a snake…. Allow yourself to feel more deeply into all sensations present in your body. Comfortable sensations, uncomfortable sensations, tensions, pressure, void, numbness. Be curious and get closer towards your experience of the present moment.
